
Online Part-Time Teacher/ Lecturer
Apply to teach CXC (CSEC or CAPE), PEP, SATs, SEA and other academic programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Daily tasks will vary for online teachers based on the subject or subjects they teach, the number of students they instruct, and the curriculum requirements they must follow.
Design lesson plans based on curriculum
Create assignments, assign homework, special projects, and reading assignments to students as well as to engage in discussion forum activities.
Online teachers will be required to encourage student participation and lead student discussions to keep them active and engaged in learning.
Online teachers will be required to provide feedback to students and assign grades to their coursework. The system will grade automatically.
Online teachers will be required to assess and monitor individual student performance to ensure students are keeping up with the curriculum and not falling behind the rest of the class.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or relevant field
Minimum 2 years of experience as a teacher preferred
Excellent organization skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities
Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to perform tasks assigned
Leadership – You must be a strong leader, able to maintain virtual classroom discipline and successfully guide students through lesson plans
Motivational skills – You are expected to use motivational skills and strategies to encourage students to learn and keep them engaged in their own education
Communication skills –You must have strong verbal and written communication skills to instruct and educate students, grade written work, and deliver reports to parents
Computer skills – because of the internet-based nature of the job, online teachers have excellent computer skills and can work with multiple types of computers, peripheral accessories, and software programs
Analytical skills – You must be able to use analytical skills to evaluate student work and ongoing student progress
